A very interesting article about
Tamil film stars' fan clubs. It says that every successful Tamil film star (male star, that is -- female stars' fan clubs are apparently rare) will have approximately 10,000 fan clubs! The article describes some of the things they actually do -- something I've wondered about. The article came about because of a recent incident when a young star, Dhanush, was mobbed and then thrown into the air by adoring fans, who unfortunately failed to catch him, so that he fell and fractured his arm.
